Scott Adams: Back For More Punishment
The Dilbert guy is engagement farming again. This time with extra dickishness.
Perhaps it’s because of my psychographic traits. Perhaps its because I went looking for his video yesterday. Whatever the reason, Scott Adams (who I don’t follow) ended up in my “for you” feed on Twitter. Wonderful. I made the mistake of reading a new comment from him this morning and subsequently lost 10 minutes or so reading the comments and his responses to said comments. I suppose I can sacrifice a few minutes to make a point; even if it’s the same point I feel I’ve tried to make at least a half dozen times over the last couple years… Here’s the OP:

Accurate data in quotes. Love the sarc. It’s a strategy I use frequently. What’s funny is the level of arrogance on display in this tweet and in his subsequent responses given what Adams did over the weekend. There are dozens of people who have commented with specific handles to follow. El Gato Malo has been shared multiple times.
But judging from the mocking tone in his responses to what others have assumed is an honest, hat-in-hand request for direction, it seems more like Adams is just having a temper tantrum:
Why is someone who claims to be apologizing for being a closed-minded billiard ball over the last two years trying to act like he’s still smarter than the ‘knuckle-draggers’ who he thinks he is apologizing to?

It’s like the point he’s trying to make is “yes, I was wrong, but you’re still an idiot.” Cool. Be a worse loser, Scott. As for the real answer to the original question, it’s very simple. And it’s disappointing that Adams still doesn’t get it…
Take a bow, Tom Lawton. You’re the real MVP.
Ask why. Don’t blindly trust consensus. Learn how to think not what to think. Common sense isn’t hard. Expect more from yourself.
"It’s like the point he’s trying to make is “yes, I was wrong, but you’re still an idiot.”"
Yes, this is exactly the point he's trying to make. He basically said it, "I was wrong, and you all were right, but only because you made a lucky guess."
I beg to differ with him. Most of us "right" people were basing our opinion on actual data and information that we reviewed, scrutinized, and analyzed, rather than accepting the opinions of so-called experts. Brand-new medical technology, fully tested and functioning perfectly in 6 months? It's not rocket science to question such a narrative...
I don't know about engagement farming, he's gone full lolcow and appears to be being farmed pretty hard himself.
