DEFINITELY keep looking into other vaccines and consider homeschooling. Have you read John Taylor Gatto? I was a public school teacher and then taught in university teacher ed programs for a while and got increasingly disgusted with schooling. John Taylor Gatto explains why the system is psychopathic
and if your wife (or you if you're going to be the one doing the homeschooling) feels maybe insecure that she isn't "qualified" to teach her child I assure you she is and I can honestly say your children will be much better off just staying OUT of the public system even if you don't teach them much. Which of course, you will. But a huge benefit of homeschooling is not only what you can bring but what you keep your kids out of or away from
I'm going to second that emotion. My husband and I basically sucked at homeschooling our kids. We were totally disorganized, never stuck to a schedule or followed a curriculum, and more or less let the kids run the show. Yet somehow, despite our "failings", our kids have excelled at everything they've tried, including finishing high school in a public school, plus college and grad school (STEM subjects). Apparently, human beings *don't* need strict, formal guidance from the age of 5 in order to learn. They just need a loving, nurturing environment in which to explore...
